Donna, now a young alcoholic with a cocaine habit and out-of-control eating disorder, admitted herself into a rehab center.

One year later, after grabbing onto rehab like a lifeline, a new Donna Hickey emerged. She believed in herself. She believed in her own success. On a journey of self-discovery and self-development, she was no longer a prisoner to her demons. Donna shattered the self-limiting beliefs that had held her back since childhood, the beliefs that sabotaged every attempt at personal and professional success. The battle was over, and Donna Hickey was the victor.

A past member of the board of the Illinois National Speakers Association, Donna has provided seminars for the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD), Asian Region Training and Development Organization (ARTDO), International Training and Development Organization(IFTDO) , Community Association Institute (Condo Industry), American International Real Estate Exposition and Conference (AIREEC) and the Multi-housing World Conference and Expo.

In addition, Donna sits on the board of the National Apartment Association Education Institute, recently speaking at the National Apartment Association Student Housing Conference (NAA).
